Mr. Deng Pibing, President of the Cambodia-China Culture & Tourism Industry Promotion Association, Mr. Wu Jianfeng and Mr. Liang Xin, Vice Presidents, and Mr. Wang Chao, representatives of Union Group, visited the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia on the morning of December 26, 2019. Cambodia-China Culture & Tourism Industry Promotion Association: Promoting exchanges and seeking common development

At the meeting, Mr. Deng Pibing, President of the Cambodia-China Culture & Tourism Industry Promotion Association, introduced the purpose and organizational structure of the Promotion Association. The Promotion Association is a non-profit organization supported by the Cambodian Long Bay: Dara Sakor, with Zhengheng (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. as the core member, WING Idea as the member unit that mainly participated in the preparations, and approved by the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia. It promotes cultural tourism investment, economic cooperation and cultural exchange between Cambodia and China.

Work with Cambodian peers to implement the “Discover Cambodia” National Cultural and Creative Development Program

To actively respond to the opportunities of the “2019 Cambodian-Chinese Cultural Tourism Year”, the Cambodia-China Culture & Tourism Industry Promotion Association launched the “Discover Cambodia” National Cultural and Creative Development Program, which aims to explore, conserve, revitalize and promote Cambodian folk traditional culture, create a model for cultural and art exchanges between Cambodia and China, and facilitate the development of cultural tourism in the two countries. Mr. Liang Xin, vice president of the Cambodian-Chinese Cultural Tourism Promotion Association, said that in the new year, the Promotion Association will comprehensively promote the implementation of the “Discover Cambodia” National Cultural and Creative Development Program from the aspects of cultural heritage, commercial value and international communication.
 

 
“Discover Cambodia” Folk Artisan Selection Competition: Promote Cultural Inheritance through Cultural Exploration and Conservation

The Cambodia-China Culture & Tourism Industry Promotion Association plans to have nearly 100 experts, scholars and travel experiencers reach out to Cambodian folks and search for unique folk handicrafts in 2020. Through the “Discover Cambodia” Folk Artisan Selection Competition, the Promotion Association selected 30 to 50 most representative Cambodian outstanding folk handicraft craftsmen, and organized their works into albums for dissemination and promotion. This not only explores and conserves Cambodia’s excellent folk traditional culture, but also improves the economic income of Cambodia’s domestic outstanding artists and craftsmen, and facilitates the market-oriented operation of Cambodia’s folk culture and art.
 

Cambodian Folk Art Experience Center, “Khmer Style” Cultural Experience Commercial Street, Theme Beach Cultural and Creative Commercial Market: Realizing Cultural Values

“The excellent Cambodian handicrafts selected in the “Discover Cambodia” Folk Craftsman Selection Competition will be exhibited at the “Discover Cambodia” Cambodian Folk Art Experience Center set up in Long Bay: Dara Sakor, a new world-class coastal cultural tourism resort destination. At that time, 50 to 100 excellent Cambodian craftsmen and studios will be invited to the cultural and art commercial district of Long Bay: Dara Sakor to create a “Khmer style” cultural experience commercial street. In the future, the outstanding achievements of the “Discover Cambodia” National Cultural and Creative Development Program will serve as a window for Cambodia’s external exhibition, to carry out the “Discover Cambodia” Khmer style art and culture tour exhibition, promote and exchange Cambodia’s culture and art in China and Southeast Asia, and expand more business development models. Moreover, the Program will explore precious art experience stories, organize them into topical communication contents, and use culture to attract more people to discover, understand, and know Cambodia.

This gift not only symbolizes blessings such as “fortune” and “all roads open”, but also implies the Belt and Road Initiative and the good wishes of friendly exchanges between Cambodia and China.
